Atlas ISO includes a built-in review and approval workflow to help you maintain document control β€” a key requirement for ISO certification.

Who can approve documents? Only users with the ISO Manager permission can approve Policy documents. Editors can submit documents for review but cannot approve them.

Submitting a document for review:

  1. Open the ISO module and navigate to Policies.

  2. Find the document you want to submit and click to open it.

  3. Click Edit, make any necessary changes, then click Submit for Review.

  4. The assigned approver will receive a notification (and task) to review the document.

Approving a document (ISO Manager only):

  1. You will receive a task notification when a document is awaiting your approval. You can also find pending approvals by going to ISO > Tasks.

  2. Open the document and review the content.

  3. If satisfied, click Approve. The document status will update to Approved and the version number will increment.

  4. If changes are needed, click Request Changes and add a comment explaining what needs to be updated. The document will be sent back to the editor.

Document version history Every approved version is stored in the document's version history. You can view previous versions at any time by opening the document and selecting Version History.

πŸ’‘ ISO audit tip: Approved documents with a clear version history demonstrate document control β€” this is one of the areas your auditor will review during certification.
