Purpose
Use this article when a former employee returns and you want to reactivate their existing Atlas record rather than creating a new one.
When to use
A leaver is rehired.
You need to restore their previous details (where appropriate) and grant them access again.
Steps
Go to Employees/workers > Manage.
Change the filter from Active to Leave to see leaver records.
Find the relevant employee in the list.
Select the pink eye icon to view their record.
Open the Administration tab.
Turn off the Leaver switch.
Update all relevant information, such as:
New start date
Job title and department
Line manager
Work pattern and location
Grant access to Atlas for the employee.
Save your changes.
Result
The employee is reinstated as active.
If the reinstatement date is today, they:
Regain access to Atlas on that date.
Reappear in the active employee list at midnight on the reinstatement date.
Notes
You do not need to create a new employee record for a returning leaver.
Using the existing record helps keep their history in one place.
