The Year-End procedure in Atlas helps you close one holiday year and prepare for the next. You’ll receive an automatic email reminder from Atlas on the first day of your new holiday year.

How to Access the Year-End Procedure

  • Go to: Company > Year end procedure in Atlas.

What Can You Do During the Year-End Procedure?

  • Set up holiday entitlements for the new year (e.g., add extra days for long service).

  • Carry forward unused holidays from the previous year (if your company allows this).

The 5 Steps of the Year-End Procedure

  1. Review Holiday Settings

    • Adjust default holiday settings before making changes to individual employees.

    • Enable the carry-forward option if you want to allow unused holidays to roll over.

  2. Resolve Pending Requests

    • Close all pending holiday or absence requests from the previous year before you continue.

  3. Confirm Year Details

    • Double-check the details for the new holiday year before moving on.

  4. Review and Edit Employee Holidays

    • See a list of all employees with their current holiday details.

    • Edit each employee’s entitlement and carried-forward holiday amount as needed.

    • You can allow some employees to carry over holidays and not others.

  5. Confirmation

    • You’ll see a confirmation message when the Year-End procedure is complete.

After Completing the Year-End Procedure

  • All changes will be applied to employee records, and holidays can be booked for the new year.

  • If you make a mistake or need to repeat the process, you can return to the Year-End procedure page and go through the steps again.

  • For small changes, you can edit holiday entitlement and carried-forward units directly from the Job tab in an employee’s record without repeating the full procedure.
