What Is Delegation?

Delegation lets you give management access to more than one person in a department. For example, both a manager and a deputy manager can view holiday requests or employee details for their team.

When Should You Use Delegation?

  • When more than one person needs to manage or view employee information in a department

  • When you want to share approval or editing rights for holidays and employee details

How to Set Up Delegation

Follow these steps to enable delegation:

  1. Go to Employees/Workers > Delegation > Add Delegated User.

  2. In the first box, enter the name of the user who is sharing their responsibilities or visibility.

  3. In the second box, enter the name of the user who will receive these responsibilities or visibility.

  4. Choose which permissions to give the delegated user by using the three switches:

    • Approve Holidays: Allows the delegated user to approve holiday requests.

    • View Employee Details: Lets the delegated user view details for employees managed by the original user.

    • Edit/Manage Employee Details: Lets the delegated user edit or manage employee details for those employees.

Important Notes

  • If you delegate from a manager, the delegated user will see all employees managed by that manager.

  • If the manager oversees multiple departments, the delegated user will see employees in all those departments.

  • If you want a user to see only one department, make that user the manager for that department. Then, set the original manager (who covers multiple departments) as the delegated user for the single department manager. This setup prevents other deputies or team leaders from seeing employee details outside their own department.
