How to Troubleshoot Site Visibility, Permissions, and Risk Assessment Issues in Atlas
When using Atlas, you may encounter issues related to site visibility, permissions, or managing risk assessments. This guide provides troubleshooting steps and best practices to resolve these common problems.
Site Visibility Issues
Why Doesn’t a Site Appear When Copying Risk Assessments?
If a site isn’t appearing as an option when copying Risk Assessments, it may not be assigned to its Site Group. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Navigate to Company > Site Groups.
Locate the relevant Site Group.
Click the three dots next to the group and select View Sites to confirm assigned sites.
If no sites are assigned, click the three dots again and choose Add Sites.
Add the correct site to the group and refresh the page.
Once the site is assigned to the group, it will appear in the dropdown for copying Risk Assessments.
Why Doesn’t a Newly Created Site Appear When Linking Staff?
If a new site isn’t visible when linking staff, the issue may be related to Site Groups. Here’s how to troubleshoot:
Check if Site Groups is enabled by going to Company > Site Groups.
If enabled, temporarily turn off Site Groups and check if the site becomes visible.
If the site appears with Site Groups off, review the Site Group configuration to ensure the new site is included in the appropriate group(s).
Save your changes and re-enable Site Groups if necessary.
This process helps identify whether Site Group settings are causing the visibility issue.
Why Can’t I See Items for a Site Even Though I’m in the Correct Location?
If you’re unable to see items like risk assessments for a site, permissions or Site Groups may be the issue:
Go to Company > Site Groups and check if Site Groups is enabled.
If enabled, try turning it off. If items become visible, it indicates your user isn’t associated with the correct Site Group.
To retain visibility with Site Groups enabled, add your user to the appropriate Site Group that contains the relevant site(s).
Once associated correctly, you’ll regain access to the site’s items.
Permissions for Risk Assessments
What Permissions Are Required to View the Risk Assessments Section?
To access the Risk Assessments page in Atlas, users must have one of the following permission profiles:
Service Owner
HS Co-ordinator
HS Service Owner
Users without these profiles will not be able to access the Risk Assessments section.
Managing Risk Assessments
Can I Edit the Assessor, Site Location, or Date on an Existing Risk Assessment?
No, once key details like the Assessor, Site Location, and Date are saved on a risk assessment, they cannot be edited. To update these fields, you must create a copy of the assessment and make the changes on the new version while retaining the original for reference.
By following these steps, you can effectively troubleshoot and resolve common issues related to site visibility, permissions, and risk assessments in Atlas.
