To find the example risk assessments, you'll need to go to Health & Safety > Risk Assessments. You can type in the risk assessment you require into the 'Filter by Name or Reference Number' filter box. If a risk assessment is not visible under the "Risk Assessments" section, check the "Health & Safety > Site Visits" area. Some assessments or outputs from site visits may appear there instead.
Additionally, risk assessments created in this section will appear in the Pending tab until approved. If an assessment cannot be found, ensure that you are checking correctly within the Pending tab.
When updating a COSHH risk assessment, it remains in the pending or "for update" section until explicitly approved. To complete the approval process:
1. Edit the assessment and navigate to the last page.
2. Approve the updated assessment.
3. The old version will be archived, and the updated version will move to the live folder.
To view risk assessments across multiple sites, ensure that “Site Groups” under Company > Site Groups is enabled. Enabling this feature allows you to access assessments and other documents across all sites within the included group. If site-specific views persist, check the Site Groups configuration for accuracy. If a user sees fewer risk assessments than expected, it is likely due to their site group assignments. Risk assessments are tied to specific site groups, and users can only view assessments for the groups they are assigned to. To resolve this: - Ensure the user is assigned to all relevant site groups. - Verify the assignments in the system settings.
To access specific risk assessment templates, such as the below, you can access these by heading to ‘My Area’ > ‘Documents’ > ‘Company Documents’ > ‘Useful Documents & Templates’.

To edit approved risk assessments, begin by opening the approved assessment and using the 'Copy' option to create a new version. Approved assessments themselves cannot be directly edited but can be updated through new versions. Archiving the old version ensures proper record-keeping. In cases where risk assessments become inaccessible due to being overdue, navigate to the Overdue tab, locate the relevant assessment, and use the Actions column to review and regain access.
If General and COSHH risk assessments appear mixed and the "Filter by Type" option is missing or replaced (e.g., by "Filter by Sectors"), this may be due to a browser cache or cookies issue. To fix this:
1. Clear your browser cookies and cache.
2. Reopen Atlas and navigate to the "Health & Safety" section.
3. Confirm that General and COSHH assessments are displayed as separate areas/pages.
